Rob Duguay’s SONGEVITY —- live @ Jazz Standard! Tuesday, July 26th 2011

We are pleased to announce the premier performance of Rob Duguay’s SONGEVITY at NY’s finest music room—Jazz Standard.  The group, a core trio consisting of Justin Kauflin (piano) and Nadav Snir-Zelniker (drums), will feature the sonically contrastable double tenor sax fronting of ABRAHAM BURTON & NOAH PREMINGER and  also feature vocalist YVONNE SIMONE.  The group will play original compositions by Duguay as well as standards to which Duguay penned lyrics. 

DO NOT MISS THIS SPECIAL CONCERT featuring sounds from North & South America, Africa, and tributes to great such as Duke Jordan, Miles Davis, Benny Golson and Leonard Feather…

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 27th, 2010 from 12noon until 6pm//$10 entrance//tickets available thru www.galapagos.com or box office (718-222-8500)//open-house vibe//TWO LIVE PERFORMANCES at 2pm & 4pm of original Rob Duguay compositions coupled with the creative genius of artist Ernani Silva.

  Steve Wilson- Saxophones,   Justin Kauflin- piano,     Rob Duguay- bass,     Nadav Snir-Zelniker- drums Ernani Silva - paint brushes, canvas, and whatever else he gets his hands on!

That all takes me back to a place when I was young….

walkin’ into-a-club where Bird’d-just-sung.

I say you felt the melody just like a bumble bee had freshly stung.

Didn’t even really matter what creed

cuz Bird was there to fill their spiritual needs.

And did I mention that Hank Jones was on the piaaaa-no playing stuff?

(Oh man that cat was tough…)

Brought to tears…by this music through the years

bebop music thank you now.

Before I was a lost kitten roaming through the crowds. (but then)

Out of Nowhere you gave me

my reason to be. (If you can dig just what I mean)
